Cherry Street Sitting-out Area

櫻桃街休憩處位於櫻桃街與塘尾道的過街行人天橋的西側引橋下方。迴旋而下的引橋為休憩處劃出了圓柱空間，空間底部有一個圓形細葉榕種植池，高挑的樹幹垂直向上貫穿，樹冠在離地約7米後盡情釋放，覆蓋了整座引橋，天晴時，每道光線透過樹葉的縫隙灑落於引橋的橋頂、柱子和地面，投射出斑駁的光影，為空間增添浪漫感和時間感。休憩處靠近棕樹街的入口設有半閉合的小廣場，花圃邊的闊度設計成40釐米，方便途人隨時可坐下休息，統整美化和座椅的功能。

The Cherry Street Sitting-Out Area is located under the west ramp of the footbridge crossing Cherry Street and Tong Mi Road. The downward spiralling ramp defines a cylindrical space for the sitting-out area. At the bottom is a circular ficus planting bed, with towering tree trunks blooming into a lush canopy 7 metres above the ground, enveloping the entire ramp. On sunny days, light scatters through gaps in the canopy onto the ramp’s roof, pillars and floor, casting spots of lights and shade and ornamenting the space with a hint of romance and sense of time. A small semi-closed plaza is also found near Palm Street’s entrance to the sitting-out area, with 40-centimetre-wide flowerbeds open to passers-by to relax, blending the functions of landscaping and seating.
