Below the junction of the Gascoigne Road Flyover and Nathan Road is a right-angled triangular rest garden of 100 metres in length. The flyover divides the garden into north and south segments. The northern entrance connects to the refuge island on Gascoigne Road. Visitors meander along towering Peltophorum pterocarpum and Araucaria heterophylla, reach the centre of the rest garden (a small circular square), stop just below the Gascoigne Road Flyover and enter the southern half of the rest garden. The southern segment is occupied by a large and richly vegetated mound similarly surrounded by a walkway, with three shaded pavilions. However, the spaces around the flyover piers are unused and filled with masonry and fences, clearly defining the resting are and the insurmountable space.
