The original Yau Ma Tei pumping station complex was made up of three red-brick buildings and was the first water conservancy facility in Kowloon. With continuous city development, only one red-brick building remains. It has now been rated as a Grade I historic building and serves as Yau Ma Tei Theatre’s office, rehearsal space and souvenir shop. The sitting-out area is located at the junction of Portland Street and Man Ming Lane. It has three entrances and exits, as well as benches and shelters for relaxation.
