The Ting Kau Sitting-Out Area spans over 9500 square metres and is located at the tip of Ting Kau headland, a leftover vacant land from the reclamation of Ting Kau Bridge. An iron mesh fence blocks the east entrance from Ting Kau Village; thus there only exists one entrance at the west end connected by Lido Beach. Ting Kau Bridge towers over the sitting-out area, gracefully stretching over the Rambler Channel. In the sitting-out area, a wavy jogging track runs along the flowerbeds, with several semi-circular fitness stations to meet different exercise needs. Another small semi-circular plaza sits opposite to the tip of the headland, surrounded by a pavilion shaped like a sail and offering 240-degrees of panoramic views. Ting Kau Beach, Ting Kau Bridge, Lido Beach, the distant Tsing Ma Bridge and Ma Wan Channel are visible from the pavilion. Many fishing hobbyists are also attracted for its large boulders from reclamation and the channel’s special location.
