This 110-metre-long sitting-out area is located on the east side of the southern end of Po Yip Street. Running north-south, it effectively separates housing estate Kwan Lok Sun Tsuen and Tung Tau Industrial Area. A 2-metre-wide winding walkway runs along the long axis of the sitting-out area, dividing it into two parts. Three sets of pavilions with benches are distributed along the walkway. Residents of Kwan Lok Sun Tsuen fill the alleyway between the sitting-out area and housing estate with home-grown bonsai and small plants. Some residents even place their home-grown potted plants on top of the edge of planters in the sitting-out area, in an attempt to integrate the sitting-out area into their “front yard”. A number of Acacia confusa and Melaleuca cajuputi are planted on the side along the Po Yip Street, serving as a sound barrier for the residential area and creating a comfortable microclimate rich in oxygen and fresh air.
